REIKI HEALING
Reiki is a unique system of energy healing. The beauty of Reiki is its simplicity. It is easy to give and easy to receive and, while Reiki is spiritual in nature, there is no requirement to subscribe to any particular religion or sect in order to benefit from it, or practice it.
Reiki can be used any time and any place. It wouldn’t be practical, or even appropriate to perform some other complementary or alternative therapies in elements of day to day life, but Reiki is so flexible that a someone who is attuned to Reiki can give themselves Reiki without anyone even noticing. Using Reiki for your own benefit is nothing more complicated than sitting quietly, placing your hands wherever they feel comfortable and simply intending the Reiki energy to flow.
The system of Reiki is based upon the idea that, once we are attuned to Reiki we can channel universal life force energy for the benefit of ourselves and others.
The concept of universal energy can be found in a number of other cultures and traditions. In Yoga and Indian Ayurveda it is referred to as Prana, which is a sanskrit word for ‘vital life’. In Traditional Chinese Medicine it is known as Chi, or Qi, meaning ‘lifeforce energy’ or ‘energy flow’ and Hawaiians refer to it as Mana. The Western world is less accepting of the idea of universal life force energy but even Christian faith refers to light and the Holy Spirit.
It is now widely accepted that energy surrounds and flows within all living things. Even objects project subtle energy fields. Energy permeates everything around us and without it we wouldn’t be able to live. We all know that when we’re unwell, run down, or feeling physically or emotionally low, that we feel as if our energy stores are depleted.
Reiki is drawn from an unlimited supply of universal energy and transmitted through the hands of the Reiki practitioner in order to bring us back into a balanced state.
When you become attuned to Reiki it is easy to allow everyone surrounding you to benefit from Reiki healing energy, from your family and friends to plants, animals, even inanimate objects and your home.
